Today was Alyxibeth’s birthday. She is 2 years old today. She got a couple of dolls from Auntie Jessica and a stroller to push her dolls around in.
Emalie made Alyxibeth Elmo cupcakes.
All in all it was a fun birth day for her.
Last night we had a fun Family Home Evening. It started on the trampoline.
We talked about family history. After the lesson and “wiggle songs” we went in for our treat. Emalie has begun practicing making cakes. Last night she made a checker board cake.
After we put the babies to bed we talked about the meteor shower. Daniel, Laura, and James wanted to stay up and see it. So they started a movie to wait till midnight. I went to bed and took a nap. I woke up at midnight and we all went out on the trampoline to watch the meteor shower.
This morning we were all worn out from staying up so late and had a hard time waking up. Then we heard Alyxibeth crying, then a couple minutes later she was very upset. Lynn was the first one up. Turns out Alyxibeth got up by her self and decided to wash her hair. She had a stool by the sink, and had her hair wet and soap all over her hair. She had gotten soap in her eyes and that is why she was so upset. We are trying to figure how to be up before her from now on.
We brought Aubré in for her institute class. Just as we came into Los Lunas it started raining hard. After it stopped raining Alyxibeth got out of the car and played in the puddles.
Then Samantha had to get in on the action.
Grandma brought me some new clothes.

The other day I saw Alyxibeth standing in the window. Turns out she was trying to catch a fly.
Here is a screen capture from my iPod weather app. It has actually warmed up a bit! I don’t remember it ever getting below 0° in my 30 years in New Mexico.
When I was in the MTC our groups favorite song was “Christ est ma Lumiere.” During sacrement meeting today I thought about that song and then painted this picture. I have always liked the symbolism of Christ being a light house. He is always there for us we can always come back to Him. And when things are at their worst He is there shining the brightest to show us the way.
